Education

Collie has a local TAFE (Technical and Further Education) facility available, which offers a wide variety of courses.

There is also university education available, with Edith Cowan University based in Bunbury, only 60kms from Collie. On-campus training is provided for the first, second and third year, final year and honours, and postgraduate courses. On-line facilities are also available.

Edith Cowan University targets special interest areas, such as education, nursing, social work, business, arts, visual arts, indigenous studies, computer and information science and science technology. Upcoming areas of specialisation in the South West are surf and wine studies.

Collie has five primary schools, which are scattered geographically across the Collie and Allanson townsites;

Currently Collie has one senior high school, the Collie Senior High School, which has 584 students and offers an extensive suite of subjects for either the university focused or trade focused student. St Brigid's offers education to Year 7 level.

A bus service from Collie is provided for those students going onto high school at Bunbury Catholic College. A school bus service caters for students from outlying areas. Transport is provided to Amaroo, St Brigid’s and Collie Senior High Schools.
